While wedding planning may be stressful, planning for a honeymoon is pretty fun. After all, this is where you and your fiancée get to choose what you want to do – not what your family wants. You’ve got money to spare and you’ve been saving up for this very special vacation. As you’re looking at places to go and what to do, you might wonder what places would offer the most enjoyment. Here’s a list of the top ten honeymoon destinations.

  1. Prague, The Czech Republic

Prague is great. The most romantic part of Prague is Charles Bridge. Crossing over the Vltava River, the bridge is lined with delicately sculpted statues, each of which possesses its own story. Through Prague, you can go experience history from medieval to modern. Go explore Prague Castle, walk through Wenceslas Square, and watch the astronomical clock while eating tasty trdelnik and holding hands with your new spouse. You won’t regret it.

  1. Fiji Islands

If you’re into island life, why not give Fiji a chance? Go to www.besthoneymoondestinations.com and look into what makes Fiji such a great honeymoon destination. There will be plenty to see and do, like snorkeling and relaxing on the warm beach.

  1. Maui, Hawaii

Like Fiji, the islander life has a chill vibe to it. If you’re from the United States, Hawaii is an easy flight away. Maui is the prettiest of all the Hawaiian Islands, and might be a little more in your budget if you’re looking to save costs.

  1. Hallstatt, Austria

Hallstatt is the epitome of “quaint.” A small town lining the Alps of Austria’s Salzkammergut region, you can be sure there is plenty to do. Once you’ve walked through the town and seen the houses stacked up against the mountain, take a tour of the salt mine and slide through caves. Hike through the mountains for a view of the entire lakes and mountains region, and taste some of the food that is offered there as well.

  1. Explore Guatemala’s Active Volcano

If you’re feeling a little adventurous, you can take a hike around Guatemala’s active volcano Volcan Pacaya. It recently rained ash down in a few cities in Guatemala, so check the activity and make sure you’re playing it safe. When you’ve finished the hike, take time to enjoy Guatemala and all that it has to offer.

  1. The Rocky Mountains

If you’re having a winter wedding, you can access the Rockies through Colorado or Utah for some nice skiing and snowboarding. Hit the many slopes that are offered, and even stay at the resorts in the area. The locals are friendly, and you don’t have to worry about traveling far – just you and your honey can relax in the resort when you’ve had enough for the day.

  1. Belize

Belize, a beautiful country, has many options for couples honeymooning. You can go explore caves, go snorkeling and diving, see archeological ruins, and see the second largest barrier reef in the world.

  1. Florence, Italy

Well, okay, Italy has a lot of options: Venice, Rome, Naples, and Cinque Terre. However, Florence wins this round because of its size and opportunities. You can go shopping in the markets in the street, visit the Duomo and climb its many, many steps to the top. You can visit museums and catch a glimpse of Michaelangelo’s David, and eat as much gelato as you’d like. Of course, since you’re in such a central location, the other attractions are easily accessible.

  1. Cape Town, South Africa

Cape Town provides access to different types of travelers. For the more adventurous types, you’ll still be able to go on a safari. However, if you just want to relax at the beach, stay put and enjoy the wine and the buzz of the large metropolitan area.

  1. Cappadocia, Turkey

This is an area that is truly from another planet. The unusual rock formations and caves are otherworldly, and you can ride in a hot air balloon over the land, taking in this unique experience.

There’s a lot to choose from. But don’t worry – it’s a long life, and if you didn’t get everything you wanted in one honeymoon, you can always do another.
